Lime synth
Every sound in Lime cave is made in the browser as you fly, from plain oscillators and noise. This puts them on a step grid so you can layer them into a loop. Pitched sounds follow the chords, so it's hard to play a wrong note. How the sounds are made.
Fly through a block
Like passing a block in the game: the lowest pad is the floor of the gap, the highest the roof. Each hit lands on the next 8th note, in the chord that's playing. Turn on record to write them into the loop. Keys 1 to 5 work too.
Keep it
The WAV is one loop that repeats cleanly. The link opens this page with your loop on it. The tune code is the whole loop as text: tempo, chords, every track and its settings, which is what a new Lime cave tune starts from.
How it works
- Each track has one bar of 16 steps, and plays it every bar. The chords change bar by bar underneath.
- Tap a step to cycle it. Drums go soft, then loud. Notes pick a chord tone, low to high. Basses pick the root, fifth, octave or third. Block hits pick a height in the cave's gap, exactly like flying through one. Right-click (or shift-click) to go back a step.
- Basses, pads, drones and keys hold until that track's next step, so leave gaps for long notes.
- Tweak opens a track's knobs: volume, tone (a lowpass filter), echo, space (reverb) and octave.
- Your loop is saved in this browser as you go.
